i want long sleeves added to my dress, but im afraid it will look obvious (photos added)

Hi everyone! I bought a dress with tank style straps, and i want to wear it with long sleeves. They showed me my options at David's Bridal, and i dont like them so I'm starting to panic. I asked if they can order me extra lace fabric from the dress brand so i can create a matching sleeves that flows better, but they said they cannot.

I feel the plain tulle sleeve looks too tight and see through, and the beaded sleeve looks like i slapped a random sleeve on.

Any ideas? Has anyone online ordered a custom sleeve from RosemaryDesigns? I feel like a matching lace sleeves would flow better, but all the DB consultants feel it would make my dress look weird.

With how intricate the dress is it may be hard finding sleeves that look like a part of the dress. Have you tried reaching out to an independent seamstress to get their opinion? Or maybe a long sleeve bolero?

That dress has a lot going on, I'm concerned sleeves will be difficult to make flow. That said, I think the top option looks pretty good!

I think that the top option looks good! From the angle/distance of the picture it almost looks like the same designs and beading.

I think the top option in ivory would be very pretty.

As PP mentioned, between the lace top and the feathered skirt, the dress has a lot going on, so it might be hard to incorporate another element. That being said, of the two options, I like the first one better.

Hi, such a gorgeous detailed dress! I would say maybe you should bring I️t to an independent seamstress as sometimes they go into the fabric departments themselves and hand pick. Once for my bridesmaid dress I needed a longer strap and the little lady marched herself to the fabric shops until she found the perfect match lol

Don't compromise, if you don't love either option go to a seamstress and they can work wonders! A lot of them will go and find you a matching fabric (at least in my area). I agree with PPs that first is better than the second, but it's your wedding day you shouldn't have to settle for something that you're just okay with

I think the first one looks totally natural. But the second one looks added on.

Same, I told my seamstress I was going to look for fabric to add little off the shoulder sleeves to mine but I didn’t call her, i just waited until my next appointment. She went out and found perfect fabric for them!

I would talk with whoever is doing your alterations. She might have ideas for how to make it seamless. You may need to order extra fabric from your dress manufacturer if possible to achieve that goal. Another option would be a bolero. However, I do like your first option.
