I want a photobooth but my FH thinks they are dumb? Who is with me or against me on this?

I want a photobooth but my FH thinks they are dumb? Who is with me or against me on this? I need to decide today as the promotion ends today. 3 hours for $500 and you get:

- Photobooth delivery setup and break down

- On-site attendant

- Unlimited duplicate strips for you and guests

- 12 month Online Photo Gallery

- Customized scrap book

- Huge selection of props

- Customized strips (make your strips match your wedding!)

- Strip background and boarders!

FH tots want a photobooth and as a guest to a wedding that had a photobooth it was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone! I think getting a book of everyones goofy pics will be awesome since a big majority of pics taken that day will probably be posed smiling pictures.

I think they are kind of dumb. I wouldn't use it if I went to a wedding. I think it kind of depends on the personality of your family. My family wouldn't use it, but my FH is much more outgoing so they would use it.

I think they are great! We are having one at our reception as well. Our families are really outgoing so would definitely enjoy it.

The only way that I would rent a photobooth is if I am using it as a guest book & doubles as a favor. That way you kill 2 birds with one stone Smiley smile

I actually got a guestbook from Shutterfly and was planning on having a candy buffet as my favor. Is a photobooth too much? I love photobooths but I don't want to go overboard.

I hate photo booths at weddings. They make me feel like I should be in the middle of a shopping mall or something. As a guest I have never used one even when it doubled as the guest book because I am so against them.

Honestly, I think it would be too much to do all 3 of those. I would stick with the photo book & candy buffet then spend the money you were going to use toward the photobooth on something else that you want to splurge on. Or if you are going on a honeymoon use it as spending money Smiley smile

I can tell you that guests love them. I see them at almost every wedding, and even if they start out a little slow, people do use them. I personally like the vintage 'boothy' ones, not the backdrops with props.

They are super cute and super fun, but cant distract people from dancing and socializing. and once you have a giant book of photos, you may just hoard it away like a regular guestbook and never look at it again. so its 50/50. we decided to skip since our wedding is 75 guests and it would end up with most of them just in there.

I was thinking of getting it for 2 hrs for $340 and having it from 7:30-9:30. The ceremony starts at 4:30 and then pictures and dinner, special dances, toasts, etc. so people wont use it then and the reception is over at 10. So for 2 hrs if people get bored the least they can do is use the photobooth right?

Is a photobooth boring with no props?

I love photobooths! We're having one, but they also were a part of our relationship so we knew it had to be part of our wedding.

We're doing a DIY photo booth. Making a "polaroid frame" from poster board, with our names and wedding date on the bottom. We'll set my camera up on a tripod, and it has a timer. We'll send copies to all of the guests after the wedding =)

I think it depends on the personality of your friends and family. I personally think they are fun and will be having one at mine. (I do have some friends who didn't have photobooths at their own wedding cause it's "overrated" and ironically I notice that those same friends have a blast at other people's wedding photobooths lol).

People always say that needing a theme for a wedding is borderline birthday party. To me, photo booths scream birthday party. They aren't romantic or elegant by any means and really seem out of place at a wedding. So if you want a casual wedding I'd say they'd fit the "theme". I'm just use to doing them with middle school students during Field Day and what not.

FH wanted a photo booth really bad. I think they're cool but it wasn't a must have for me. We ended up hiring a photographer that had an add on to our package for only an extra $250. FH is super excited about it. It'll be cool. Haha. Your guests would prob love it. If it's doable for your budget, I say go for it.

I think it is a fun thing to have but agree w/JuneBride that it might not fit in depending on the setting/mood of your wedding and venue. Mine was in an art museum and it just would not have looked right. The venue wouldn't have allowed us to have one anyway.

I am having a destination beach wedding and the booth would be set up on a porch of a building beside the pavilion where the reception is.

Oh, my gosh, do it! $500 for all that and 3 hours. That's way cheaper than what my fiance and I had found. We'd really wanted to do one but decided it was too expensive. Plus, I don't think our venue would have room. But we'd thought it would be a lot of fun.
