i thought i found my dress, but....

So I went dress shopping a few weeks ago with some of my bridesmaids and MOH. I thought I had found “the one” but when I went home and thought about it for a longggg while I realized that though its a beautiful dress, it doesn’t feel like THE dress. I honestly feel like I got caught up in the day and just chose the prettiest dress that I tried on.

I only put down $200 on it but I’m nervous to call and let them know that I no longer want the dress lol (I hate confrontation!) I’m realistic in the sense that I know I probably will not be getting that money back but I was really just wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

You could possibly go back to the shop and see if you like anything else there and maybe they can transfer the $200 to a new dress?

You have to call right away. Once you put down money that gives them the okay to start production on the dress and the longer you wait, you may not be able to cancel it.

Agree with this. Many stores will let you apply the deposit to another dress. I wouldn't worry about telling them you changed your mind, I'm sure they see it every day!

Call them ASAP. If they didn't already order the dress, you may only be on the hook for the $200. They may want you to pay the whole amount if you wait too long.

I did the same thing... I followed my gut and returned the dress I thought "was the one" and got the dress that I kept trying on at every dress appointment! Go with the dress you cannot quit thinking about!

Luckily when I called Davids Bridal to try to return my dress and get back my $200 deposit they returned my $200, I did call within 10 days of putting the deposit down. After the 10 days they would've kept my deposit or part of it , I believe.

Thanks guys for all your advice! Mixed news but closer to the good side! I was able to cancel the dress (apparently the deposit was not large enough for them to order to begin with!) and I lost the $200 deposit (which I knew was a big possibility so that's fine) Though the dress is a beautiful one, the more I thought about it I just couldn't see myself walking down the aisle in it.
