i think I'm not in love with my dress anymore?

Candace, on July 4, 2018 at 4:48 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12
I purchased a dress back in May and I was looking for something that was more whimsical and flowy, but I ended up getting a lace mermaid and I loved it! I loved the way my curves looked and was surprised I liked it. I even cried when the consultant put the veil and head piece on. Now it's been a couple months and now I'm starting to feel like I was caught up in the moment and I don't know what to do. It was a final sale dress at David's Bridal and I don't know if I can take it back or not. HELP!

It looks stunning on you. Do you have it at home with you? Maybe try getting all dolled up with veil and jewelry, hair/makeup and put it on. It may remind you of that joy!

If its still making you doubt it, call David’s and ask if an exchange is a possibility. If it’s not, that may make your decision right there. If it is, you can go in for an appt, try on a few things, and see if anything else gives you the same feelings you had in this dress.

I dont think you can go wrong with this one though. You look beautiful! Good luck Smiley smile

Your dress looks amazing on you! And you look very confident! I would try what Alexandrea said and get dolled up again and see if you still get the same feelings. Also, if you haven't made any alterations yet they may let you exchange your dress for one of equal value. Good luck!

The dress is lovely and honestly seems to fit the flowy and whimsical that you were wanting. Keep your styling soft and playful and it'll be perfect.

I think you look amazing. The dress fits you so well. Curious have you tried it on again? I was feeling like my dress wasn't "the one" after I had brought it home. Then when my shoes arrived I tried it all on again and fell in love.

    May work for you.

Davids bridal isn’t going to take it back. The dress looks beautiful on you and is unique, so I’d take more time to think about getting another dress.

You look amazing! As others have said, try in on again! I started to second guess my dress in my head after having it stored for a while, but when I put it on I loved it even more than before. How I looked, how I felt. Even looking at pictures of myself trying it on didn’t help, it took actually putting it on. I still love it so much and I’m 5.5 weeks post wedding lol.

You look stunning however if you are unhappy I say go to a bridal boutique and look into purchasing another dress.

I hit a spot where I questioned if my dress was exactly what I wanted, too.
I took it out of the bags and tried it on again and all was right with the world.

Your dress is stunning on you!

I think that dress looks amazing on you! Even though it’s a mermaid style it’s still really flowy in the bottom and that lace is gorgeous. I think it fits you really well. If it was a final sale dress, I’m pretty positive you can’t return it 😕 You could call them or go in and ask though! It doesn’t hurt to ask them, just in case they say yes.
Like everyone else said, definitely try it on again and see how you feel. Do your hair and makeup and put on the veil too! While I was waiting for my dress to come in (took 6 months after I bought it!) I had so many doubts. But then when it arrived I went to the salon and put it on, and it was still the dress I was in love with. If you still don’t love it, you could try to resell it on your own.

I think it is absolutely gorgeous and this is coming from someone who second guessed and bought another dress. I would keep it!

That dress looks like Beyoncé met a Greek goddess. It looks reeeeally good on you. The back is popping. I had dress regret too BUT others agreed with my regret and I found the dress I should have looked for to begin with. It gave me the feels.

In your case, this dress gave you the feels and caught you by surprise. I’d give it another chance and throw on a veil, like many PP said. The lighting can be a huge factor too.

Hi Candace! Welcome to the WeddingWire Community! Smiley ring This dress looks amazing on you! The mermaid flow, lace-up bustier back, and sash give it a beautiful style! It's not uncommon to have second thoughts though; I would just give it more time and keep trying it on to see if things change. If you still feel the same about it, then you could certainly look for another selection since your wedding isn't until next June! I hope you're able to work something out! Good luck!
