Bubbly needs to have a special stopper or it will lose it's fizz and then it won't take as yummy. My thoughts are if it goes flat toss it in a blender in the morning with some berries/fruit and ice…instant yummy smoothie!

    I love Prosecco.

Put a metal spoon in the top and it will keep its carbonation (handle down into the bottle, spoon part sticking up). I have no idea why it works, but it does!

ETA - it doesn't work for a long time, but it will keep the bubbles for usually a day or so.

Are you having an open bar? If so, see if there is a sparkling wine included in that price. I did sparkling wine instead of champagne (& no one knew) and it saved so much money from adding the individual champagne toasts. It's such a small amount for the toast, don't get crazy unless you are in love with a special champagne.

The fizz will last for a while (8 hours or so in some cases), so you're safe for the duration of your wedding.

Thanks everyone! The wine is just for a toast. I'm having an open beer bar for the reception.

Would it be considered tacky if I got plastic flutes for the wine? They're only going to have a drink out of them so I don't really want to pay all this money for one drink..
