I miss my ring! (being resized)

PH03N1X, on July 27, 2017 at 2:49 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

We took my wedding band to be resized, and my e-ring for its inspection, about 2 weeks ago. My e-ring diamond was loose, and a prong was catching on everything, so they sent it in as well. I spefically asked if we'd have to size the e-ring larger if I was going to wear them together and they said no. So FH and I go to pick them up and I can't even put both rings on! I can still put on my e-ring but not if the beans is already on, can barely get the band on solo, even though they were suppose to be the same size! Now I have to wait 2 more weeks for them both to be enlarged and prey we got the right size this time. I just miss my e-ring. I put on an old puzzle ring to keep my finger warm until my e-ring returns home. Smiley sad

I didnt have to get my ering resized once I got my band but my band is a half size bigger than my ering to compensate for wearing both at the same time.

First of all, your nails are amazing. Second of all, I know the feeling, whenever I send away my rings for redipping I wear one of my mother's old rings so my hand doesn't feel weird. Finally, what a pain they didn't help you get the right size the first time, I'll cross my fingers it is perfect the next time you get it back

    Who is the jeweler??

I would be extremely nervous about sending my jewelry out. 2 weeks is ridiculous! All of the work on my e-ring to have it resized was done by a local jeweler. I made an appointment, dropped it off, and picked it up the same day.

I took my ring off to put on stockings this morning and I left the house without it!! I'm sooooo sad! I have a habit of touching it and I kept freaking out so i wrapped a paperclip around my finger.

I can't wait to go home

I'm sorry. I was disappointed when I had to leave my e-ring with the jeweler so they could make a wax mold and design my wedding band. They told me it would take two weeks and it took five weeks. When we went to pick it up, we discovered that I had lost enough weight while they had it that my e-ring now needed to be resized, so they kept it. Overall, they had it for six weeks. It was worth it, though. Six weeks was such a small amount of time compared to the lifetime I'll wear it.

Do you have a different ring that you could possibly use as a placeholder? I had a birthstone ring my parents gave me years ago that I wore in place of my e-ring while mine was with the jeweler. I actually didn't have my e-ring during my bridal shower and no one even noticed I was wearing a different ring. It's definitely not necessary to put another ring on your finger because you're no less engaged than you are with a ring, but if you're missing your ring, it might make you feel more comfortable.

I'm glad to hear I'm not a weirdo, missing my ring so bad.

@Rachel- That paperclip is killing me!

Thank for the nail components! FH isn't thrilled I'm "so into nails lately" because I'm spending money on them, LOL. I'm stamping my own designs now and these were my first attempt at ombre nails. Would you believe a regular triangle makeup sponge did these? Crazy right? Much cheaper than the salon doing it but I highly recommend the latex cuticle guard to keep cleanup to a minimum.
