Has anyone read the book "What to expect, when your expecting" before actually expecting? Me and the fiance has been talking about kids for awhile, but I have no idea what to expect lol.

I would recommend taking charge of your fertility before a book about pregnancy if you’re discussing having kids. A lot of people have no idea what the process of getting pregnant entails or what is happening to their body.

I’ve been reading What to Expect Before You’re Expecting by the same author. I’m gonna read that one next. I don’t think it hurts to be more educated.

I think that reading a book can yes give you general insight but honestly nothing is a better learning experience than first hand! everyone experiences pregnancy differently and parent different and all children learn and grow different! even parents believe and parent style different so you will never know what's your style or what's best for your baby until you actually have your baby. And if you have more than one child your parenting techniques may change between all of your kids. just know if your doing your best then you are doing it right! I know no amount of books could have prepared me for the triplets we were blessed to have lol

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that but also doing research on healthy pregnancy and what to expect from that, is a good start as well. Also scheduling a preconception consultation with your obgyn/midwife before conceiving to answer any questions or address any concerns is a good start as well.

It's a book, I don't find it odd to have read it. I read a book literally about running - I hate running and had no interest in it ahaha. But yet found the book to be very interesting.

I haven’t read it recently but my mom “gifted” it to me at 12-16 and I read it back then. I think she didn’t have anywhere to put it and I had a bookshelf in my room. I can’t remember if I still have it.
