Dedicated December 2019

i love my mom

Reeshma, on August 9, 2019 at 11:58 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 8
I was talking to my mom and MOH about something old, something new and told them I had nothing borrowed or old. My mother, the sweet lady that she is, says that she has an old watch that she wore on her wedding day that is broken but she will have it fixed so I can borrow it for my wedding day. Has anyone else had such a sweet moment amidst all the hectic planning?

Yes! I was looking up what the "borrowed" was supposed to be from. I didn't know who it would be appropriate to ask or how that worked. I saw that the idea was to be that you borrow from a happily married couple to "borrow" their happiness. Since I know very very very few couples that are happy I was at a loss. My friend from grad school offered to lend me these gorgeous lanterns from her wedding for my something borrowed. I was overwhelmed! On my wedding day she let me keep three of them that we keep in our window. Smiley heart

That is so sweet! I did always plan on wearing my mothers pearl necklace when I get married, but unfortunately it doesn't look that great with my dress. I'm thinking about wearing it as a bracelet instead possibly or incorporate ot somehow into my hair.

Well my grandmother won't be there due to the traveling (DW) but she wants to take care of the things I need so that I know she's there in spirit.

something old- family locket passed down to me

    Something new- earrings

Something borrowed- hair pin she wore at her wedding

    Something blue- my reception shoes

I'm actually doing that same thing! My mum gave me a variety of things she wore for her wedding (earrings, necklace, gloves, clutch purse). The necklace is a strand of pearls, and I'm going to wrap it twice around my wrist and wear it as a bracelet I think Smiley smile
