Unless you are at a point where you are doubting yourself and need to try it on to kill those doubts, wait. I gave mine to the seamstress early to remove the temptation.

I wouldn’t be concerned about nitpicking details— I’d be concerned about something happening to it! Every try on is a risk— a little dirt, a little tear or run, make up smudge or deodorants— so many tiny things that can go wrong and the more you manipulate it the greater the risk becomes!

I tried my dress on once when it came in, and I was attacked by the great big doubt monster. I went back to the store to try on the sample, and it was alright, but I haven’t tried my actual dress in since that one time in my living room. I’m kind of scared to In case I hate it again/still.

I never thought about that! But it totally makes sense! I haven’t said yes to the dress yet (waiting for the new Fall lines to drop 1st!), but I’m now making a promise to myself that I won’t try it on until alterations time! I think I’ll also need to vow not to continue looking at dresses online after I say yes LOL

Your sister is right. I’m a true believer that when you select anything that has to do with your wedding, make the decision and move on to something else ( whether that’s a bridal dress, flowers, shoes, seating chart, BM dresses, etc.) . There will always be endless dresses out there. So if you keep looking, I’m sure you’ll find something else. That’s why some brides end up buying two and three dress.

I agree - hold off as much as you can. I pulled mine out once to try on with shoes to make sure they didn't look too obnoxious when I walked, but I was kind of terrified I'd get it dirty. It's with the seamstress now, and she said she always recommends letting her hold onto it until a week or two out so you can't stress over it in person haha

I have put my dress on at least three times since I said yes. I wanted to make sure that I am very comfortable in it when walking, sitting, dancing, ect. Also, I love my dress and putting it on has also helped me really figure out exactly how I want to do my hair and stuff like that.
