My wedding was a few weeks ago, and I feel almost selfish posting this and even feeling negatively towards the wedding. While yes, I am married to the love of my life and we are so happy together, my wedding just turned out nothing of how I wanted it.... My parents argued the entire time and made my wedding planning and showers miserable (theyre divorced and cant stand each other), my wedding coordinator was a disaster and screwed up my rooms that I booked so we were stuck in basically a bar for my wedding and gave my ballroom away to another wedding party, my cake was all wrong and bright pink like cotton candy and tasted like cotton candy too, my mom wanted to stick it to my dad and invite anyone and everyone so instead of a small intimate wedding i had 100 strangers and an angry father at the end that had a large bill to pay, on top of that my photographer lost half of my photos that included the ceremony and our family formals. I've just been so upset about how everything turnedout

That really sucks to not have anything go your way on your special day. Maybe try to just have an awesome honeymoon with the hubby to get your mind off things...

My heart seriously breaks for you. How awful that your parents couldn't settle their differences for you.

Thanks ladies.. we did have an AMAZING honeymoon!! We went to Live Aqua Resort in Cancun (all inclusive food and drinks, adults only, mmm) Smiley smile My photographer was gracious enough to tell us after we got home that our pics were lost, lol. I have seriously considered starting a small wedding planning business for planning intimate weddings in Atlanta because I feel like a have to put all of this energy towards SOMETHING! The sad part is I used to work in even planning, which is probably why I'm so frustrated! I'm like "yall do this for a living??!"

I am so sorry to hear that your experience did not turn out as expected; as the other girls have mentioned, try to talk and see if you can get a refund with some of your vendors. At the end of the day, you're a married woman and ready to start a new chapter in your life with your hubby

Who signed the contract with the coordinator, Brookleigh? Was it your dad? If it was you, you should have been advised of all changes, and approved them.

This sounds so sad. Were there any magical moments, or did it all go downhill fast?

So sorry to hear that it didn't completely turn out as you envisioned. As all the other ladies have said, you are now Mrs. ??? - the most important thing that counts.

It was my dad that signed the contract since he is the member of the country club.. Anytime I tried to talk to my dad about this during the entire wedding planning process and how I thought the country club had been taking advantage of us, he'd attack me about how I was being too dramatic. I would think he'd be a little pissed at the venue if I was telling him they aren't giving me what he's going to end up paying for. So it's kind of a lost cause if he's not willing to believe in what I'm telling him and have my back...

The night did have a lot of amazing moments. My ceremony was spectacular and flawless. and the weather was blue skies and sunshine against stunning backdrop. I loved our flowers. As much as I didn't like our cake--the cake table together was beautiful. My bridesmaids and the groomsmen looked amazing and I'm so happy they could be apart of everything, and my flower girls and ring bearer were precious

@Glenda, don't fall victim to this!! As long as you have anything written of what you really want, EXACTLY how you want it, you shouldnt have a problem. My problem was trusting people with the details... Maybe I'm a perfectionist, but i had assumed everyone in this business is. The cake for example: send a pic of EXACTLY what you want. Not close to it, or a description of it, but exactly. I would've been set if I sent her the exact color and flavor and if she couldn't do it, i'd move on. If she told me the exact flavors that went into constructing it, I wouldve gone else-where. (there was a complete 180 between the cake tasting and final $500 cake!) I wouldve been happy with a $20 white cake from the grocery store!

Get that dress back on girl!!! We won "Day After" photos and LOVED doing them! You get to take all the fun pics you are too nervous to take or too worried to get dress dirty etc. we had so much fun! Chin up...dress on...smile beaming...GO!

Even though there were the bad moments, I'm so glad you had some good ones too. Try to forget the bad and just remember the good. I'm sure you will have fun retaking the pictures. I'm sorry you had so much family drama though. I can see some family drama happening at my wedding. And you better believe if anyone crosses the line or is starting trouble I will kick their booties out of my reception. This is a day about the couple, and it's sad that families can't accept that and behave for one day.
