i hate the invites i designed

What do you hate about them? How long did it take you to design your current invites, and do you think you'll have time to redo something else?

I've designed all the paper elements of our wedding stuff - menus, posters, invites, save the date, etc, so I get not feeling entirely comfortable with what you've chosen - it's hard for any design to possibly live up to what you imagined in your head.

I don't even remember how long it had taken me, it was back in November! But looking at it makes me feel like I rushed through it possibly. Or I had enough and said good enough. Well... if that's how you feel, why not play around with it and see how you go? If, after a few hours or a day or two you still can't put together something you like, you've still got plenty of time to find a template you love!

You definitely have more than enough time to redesign the invitations. For my husband and I, we had to order new invitations with a new design, since we had to change our venue due to COVID.

Whatever you decide I would decide on it soon since it is already July and I assume that your invitations will go out next month?

View Quoted Comment Yes! That was actually why I was looking at them last night - I was gonna send them off on Monday next week. The print shop said they're within 2 or 3 days of being submitted to them and they're local so we go pick them up!

What dont you like about them? To be honest my fiance and I decided rather quickly on our design. We found a pre made design on zazzle - however with zazzle you can add personalization. We did a tri-fold design (to eliminate having an astronomical amount of inserts) we LOVE the tri-fold idea. It has all info spaced out evenly across the three folds regarding ceremony/wedding reception details/ accommodation details with a detachable RSVP.

I think the biggest question is.... how quickly can you receive the invitations if you were to use the design you have now opposed to if you were to complete a whole different design? I think time plays a huge factor with this question.

We are getting married 10-2-2021 and we have already started to send out our wedding invites this week to those out of staters/towners.

I wish I could pinpoint what I hate, but I can't seem to pinpoint it. We also decided to add a little bit of our geeky/nerdy side into the wedding decor so now I feel like the invitation should also reflect it a little bit at least. We're having a local print company print them and turn around is only 1-3 days so once we send it to them they're ready quick!

We're getting married 10-9-21 and we were also debating when we should start sending them out. We have some out of state/towners as well and we were thinking of aiming for the last week of July/first week of August!

Yes!I think that a great idea to send them out to your out of towners the last week or July/early August. We wanted to be sure to give those that need to make travel plans/hotel accommodations (we did hotel room blocks) enough time to do so.

You definitely have time to redesign. I know what you mean by scrolling through templates and not finding one that seemed just right. I actually found some clipart bundles on Etsy that I purchased and used to personalize our invitations, basing the design off a template I liked but that wasn't perfect. I'm sure there's some cute "geeky" artwork out there that you could incorporate into your design.

I’m having the hardest time with invitations too!!! We have looked at over 2000 and then designed one ourselves and didn’t like it. I wish I could help you but I’m in the same boat with our invites. Good luck!

Invites are really not that important in the whole scheme of things. Did you already have them printed? If so, and nothing is glaringly wrong (no incorrect or omitted information), I would not bother with spending time to redesign and money to reprint.

If you haven't yet printed them and redesigning them is something you have time for, then there is no harm with playing around with them a bit more. Even if you have already printed your invites, you can continue to work on the design and possibly just have a few invites reprinted to use for your wedding photos and maybe send to select guests if you really hate the design that much. I just wouldn't go through the expense of reprinting all of your invites just because you changed your mind on how you feel about the design itself because it is a very insignificant, minor detail overall.

If you don’t like them I would .. Because you have to be happy with them..

Nope, you still have plenty of time depending on what company you go with! You could always try Minted or something similar, just make sure to communicate when you need to receive them by to make sure you have time.

take a look at that website^^ . They have so many designs, I ordered custom napkins through them and they arrive incredibly fast. They also have different types and colors of paper, for a bargain price. If you really want to redo the invitations, please consider using this website for speed and quality at a great price!
