I had an open corset back put into my dress...

Mrs.MacC., on June 21, 2013 at 10:06 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 20

And I am IN LOVE with the way it looks! I had my seamstress put in a bodice only corset, and no modesty panel, so that my skin shows through the ribbon that laces the corset. The corset doesn't go down any further than my waist.. the rest is a hidden zipper.

It looks AMAZING!!!!

I'm not taking pictures in my dress until the day of.. but here is my dress.. and a pintrest pic I found that is very similar to what I had done to my dress in the back..

Love it and your dress is gorgeous!!!

I want a corset put into my dress.. But I dont think the seamstress will have time. How long did it take her to do it? And was it orginally zipper/button back?

@Felicia: my seamstress (was not a DB seamstress btw) had mine done in a week. It went from zipper to corset.

Thank you so much!!! My steamstress took about two weeks to change it from a button back to corset Smiley smile

...and my dress is NOT from DB. Its a casablanca gown from a speciality botique.

Ohhh sounds like mine.. My dress is a Kitty Chen gown also from a bridal boutique. Two weeks is not long at all!! I think im going to steal your idea! Prob not the open corset ( I do love yours though) but Im also in a wheelchair and will be from a spinal injury and wont be able to show off my back so much =( I just love how corset backs suck you in! Lol.

My dress is cutting it super short. It wont be arriving until late August and wedding is early/mid september. So, I hope even with whatever alterations it will be needing and wanting to switch the back to corset it willl be enough time!

DB Davids Bridal? Neither am I. I chose a bridal boutique that carries the line I was really inlove with and they are sooo nice. I like to go in during the week, its nice and quiet and now I like know everyone who works there and am getting to know the owners just as well! Lol.

Steal away! Make the back however makes you feel beautiful! I know your injury and wheelchair prevent people from seeing it, but we wear pretty bras and panties and alot of times no one sees! So its ok bc you know its there and you feel beautiful! I say go for it! Smiley smile

Aweee thanks!! Thats such sweet advice! =)

I am also planning on staying out of the wheelchair that day as much as possible.. For example.. Having Fh carry me down the aisle after we are officially married.. And I rented a special "throne chair" for our sweetheart table, and special lounge furniture to set up around the dance floor so I can sit on those and still be able to dance (while sitting down of course) but with those pieces of furniture it will be easier to see my dress =)
