i finally finished some diy

...Yeah, 8 days left. I’ve learned I like the DIY look but hate the DIY work. Man I come home from work and just want to sleep, nevermind do wedding tasks. I finally finished two projects and FH is halfway done with our third. One more project to go, bring it on deadline!
Our toasting flutes(they were originally flesh colored, flesh toned flowers looked gross to me)
Our Wish Tree! Not pictured is the tags people write on that I spent an additional hour figuring out placement.

FH made me laugh so hard I had tears running down my face. We’re sleep deprived so it probably wasn’t that funny but he kept making fun of the butterflies on our tree because the antennas were crooked. He has affectionately called them “lopsided turd flies”
I love them anyway. 😋

FH is in charge of our moss covered cupcake stand, he was wearing more than the cupcake stand! That stuff gets everywhere, do not attempt unless you love vacuuming and you can laugh at the ridiculousness of DIY Hell.

I like the idea of adding more nerdiness, but that to do list is long enough! LOL She found a book we will put our ceremony script in for the officiant with a blue stone in the cover that has a holy tome kind of feel, so I'm just rolling with that as our D&D/gaming element. My book for my vows is from Doctor Who, hers is Winnie The Pooh. There's plenty of other nerdiness happening. Trust!

Your ceremony script book sounds AMAZING oh my gosh I’m envious! I’m not telling FH or he’d be scrambling to find a book now and there’s no time for more projects. Rest assured he’d be so in love with that idea!
We thought about doing medieval style scrolls but they were expensive, slightly sad. I -might- attempt to make one but it honestly sounds next level craft goddess to me.

I legit wanted to get a scroll for our officiant. It would have been hysterical to get a super long one, but as you say they are expensive. I also considered a version of the book I use as an officiant but then she found that one and we both love it!

That would’ve been great! A super long one dragging on the floor, especially for like a five minute ceremony. The CVS receipt of wedding scrolls!
I like your idea better though. I still don’t have any vow books or anything yet! FH wants to use his mini spell book but I have nothing. 😰 Welp time to add another DIY project, lol I blame you!

BWAHAHAHA I am such a bad influence!!! Honestly, Etsy and Amazon have some really cool looking ones. And yeah, the thought was to make it drag for a simple ceremony. I also had the thought of grabbing the book (if we got the one that looks like mine) and act like I was going to officiate our own ceremony then have our friend jump up to take over. And the more I think of the logistics the more I like just going with the cool magic looking book.

Oh I really like those! I also am in the "DIY stuff is hard" I actually liked my DIY project but really found it more tedious than rewarding lol.

I LOVE that idea! It’s hilarious, guests would be looking around in a panic like WHAT?? I actually originally wanted a book for our guest book, it was a cool spell book with glowing ancient runes but ouch that book was $220!! And my wish tree was $35 so tree wins. I want to get that book for FH someday, maybe an anniversary gift for his wizard attire.

I wouldn’t have even attempted it by myself, I’ve learned DIY is fun with another person but I absolutely hate it by myself. It feels like punishment lol. I cut so many projects after determining how Pinterest VS reality it was.

I’ve found a good potential vow lookin’ book but it’s a mini junk journal with wildflowers on it. It’s kind of my backup idea because I really want to find blank scrolls! I have tomorrow off so I’m making it my mission. I’ll scour every LARP website I can find!

OMG you are magical!!! I love this so much. If I wasn't bent on carrying my River Song journal I would. Kris is really excited about the book she got for the officiant too so I'm going to have to find another use for these!

Menu? 😁 I don’t know I just want them everywhere! Man I would’ve made these my invitations if I found them sooner. I can’t wait to surprise FH with it! He really wanted one but Etsy was a no-go. We got antique gold ones because FH is Prince Cye! He gets fancy paper.

Oh my gosh!! I need to calm down lol, I’m already picturing a medieval style dinner party at home with those gorgeous things on the tables. Why is paper making me so excited!? This is just the best thing ever right now.
