Beginner October 2020

i feel like i missed out.

Our wedding is in 24 days (Oct. 17, 2020) and I feel like I'm not ready for it to be here. We have been engaged for four years but just really started planning right before Covid hit. I wasnt able to do much because everything was closed. I graduated college in May and then I jumped into a new job that has taken up pretty much all of my time. Now our wedding is in a little over 3 weeks and I feel like I missed out on getting to enjoy wedding planning. I'm excited for the wedding but I'm not ready for it to be here and be over. I want more time to make sure everything is perfect.

You could always plan a vow renewal for next year! That way, you still get your wedding this year, and you can go through wedding planning for a larger event for next year. Due to COVID, many people are doing a small ceremony this year and a larger vow renewal/reception next year.

Unfortunately, no matter how long you have to plan your wedding or how much time you have to focus on it, your wedding is never going to be perfect. No wedding is. Enjoy the wedding that you have planned! Maybe you could plan an anniversary party or a vow renewal for some time in the future when you have more time to dedicate to planning.

Maybe I can suggest that you have a little bachelorette party with close friends prior. I get what you mean and I can see how wedding planning can be missed but honestly getting closer to and the fees I am ready for it to be over ha ha ha.

I do think like pp's have suggested have a little party before or after for your anniversary to feel special. I hope things do become more exciting for you. Smiley smile

I feel the same way... had to cancel our first international destination May wedding (in March we made the call) and I did a lot of planning for it... then we planned a wedding for 9/9 which was the perfect day, however, we planned it in 45 days and felt rushed... so I get it. 💗

Your feelings are very valid, but try to focus on things you are grateful for. Yes, you and many others didn't get to enjoy planning or feel special bc if COVID but focus on spending the rest of your life witj your significant other.

I 100% agree with you on that. It's honestly something that you'll just have to learn to navigate. I would encourage you to try to control your thoughts and put in every effort to get excited for the wedding. Take off work a few days leading up to it and focus that time 100% on pampering yourself! Also try to plan fun stuff for after the wedding to help give you something to look forward to after you come out of the "high" of the wedding day.

You can plan a big celebration for next year or the following. Trust it’ll take just as much time planning lol
