i don’t think i like my dress anymore

I bought a dress and am having regrets. I don’t feel happy or excited about my dress. It is just very boring and I simply don’t like it like I thought I did, and the shop won’t let me cancel my order. Anyone experience this? What did you do?

Dress regret is very common, I had it myself. Similar to the way you described how you feel about your dress. Will the shop let you return it for a store credit to get another dress? I did that and when I couldn't find another dress that I wanted there, I used the store credit to cover bridesmaid dresses and just had my bridal party send me money instead of paying the bridal shop. Then I ordered a new dress from Azazie and even wearing the sample dress, I didn't want to take it off! If they won't let you return it for store credit, you could try selling it online! You have lots of time to find another dress if you aren't sold on the one you've bought Smiley smile Best of luck to you!

This is normal. Most of us second guess a lot of things wedding related. Spending so much money on a dress, venue, catering, etc will have you second guessing everything. Decision fatigue is real and anxiety inducing. Most stores have a final sale, no refund, no exchange policy because the dresses are custom/special order. Simple dresses can beautiful, you can be more creative with your hair jewelry and make up. If you don't love the dress, you can try and sell it like the pp said. Do you have another dress in mind?

I also felt the same way after ordering my dress! It came in and I tried it on and was like "oh yeah I LOVE this dress!!" . And then not even a week later I went back to being worried it wasnt just right or too boring. If you really don't like it, definitely look into options for selling and getting something else! But it's also totally normal to doubt your choice when you can't just go reassure yourself by looking at it in your closet!

If you ordered from a boutique, they probably won't let you cancel/return it. I definitely wouldn't make any decisions until after it comes in and you put it on again. I ordered mine two months ago and my mind keeps playing the "did I choose the one I was meant to have" trick on me. If you loved it when you put it on originally, odds are you'll love it again. My advice is to not compare your dress to other dresses on here! I find myself saying "oh that A-line looks SO GOOD on her! Maybe I chose wrong..." Then the realistic side of me thinks "I hated A-Line on me and love the more simple/fitted styles." (What I bought.) Don't second guess yourself!

If your dress wasn't too expensive, you could take it to get altered. Speak to a seamstress or tailor to see what you can change about your dress to make it fit your style. It may be a big expense if you want to change a lot, but it saves the hassle of selling your old dress.
