I don't like my dress anymore

Katie, on March 13, 2017 at 2:03 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

I'm trying to decide if I should keep my dress because it was way over my budget or get a new one? I'm not in love with it at all, I don't like anything about it like I thought I did at first

If you already bought a dress that was way over budget, where are you going to get the money for a new one? Can you cancel the order without losing any money? Or are you going to sell it?

I think the dress is beautiful.

I think it looks really great on you. Specifically what do you not like about it? If you are looking at other dresses stop it, it will make you have dress regret!

It looks like you got your dress from DB? You can't get money back but you can exchange with them for a dress of an equal or less price.

Personally I think your dress is beautiful and you look great! Same question as @Heather, what made you fall out of love with the details you originally loved?

    I think it is beautiful.

Same as PP. Why don't you love it anymore? I had dress regret, but I still liked the dress and some of the details.

Have you seen the dress in person since you bought it, or do you just have pictures from when you tried it on?

I ask because store pictures tend to look kind of crappy compared to what the dress looks like in person. My FMIL took a bunch of pictures of me trying on dresses, and I was surprised by how troll-like I looked in them because I felt fab trying those dresses on.

How did you feel when you tried on your dress? What did you like about it? What made you purchase it?

It looks great on you! What don't you like about it? Unless you were able to sell it and recoup most of what you spent, I wouldn't go with a different dress. Is it possible that the things you don't like could be altered?

    It is perfect on you!!!

If you truly don't like it, see if they could exchange for one of equal or lesser value. I think it's beautiful and look at your smile!!!

I was really wanting more of a lace vintage look, and got pressured into buying. Also I am not loving my 4 month postpartum stomach, I feel like it really stands out in dress. I can shift my budget around a tad and cut out a few items to get a less expensive dress.

I think it looks great on you and you have another 5 months to work on your postpartum belly, even though I don't think it looks bad at all. Have you tried on the dress since the store? As others have said the store pics turn out horrible.

I say get a new dress. If you really don't like it, and you can afford to get a new one. You should feel your best!

It's a beautiful dress - if you aren't fond of the leftovers from baby bump showing (trust me I get it, I've never fully gotten rid of mine and it still bothers me 6 years later) then it's nothing some good shape wear won't fix! So maybe find something to wear under it and give it one last try on before you fully decide to get rid of it in favor of a different one! You look lovely and shapewear for under it I think could give you the confidence you need in your shape to remember why you picked it! But, if that doesn't fix it, definitely get something you like better. You want to feel beautiful to you, that's important. Find something that makes you feel great!

Change out the belt. It will give it a whole new look. How will buying a new one help your budget?
