i don't like my centerpieces

Kelsey, on June 1, 2019 at 4:00 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 16

So we've got three months until the wedding and I've realized that I'm not too fond of my centerpieces. I just don't think it looks cohesive. Does anyone have any thoughts/ideas on how I can salvage what I have or what I could add or change? I was thinking of getting rid of the green vase and putting the rose in the white one. And obviously the battery pack for the lights won't be visible the day of lol.

Why do you have so much on the plate? What shape are the tables?

I think what may be throwing it off is that the two plants in the back are the same height. Since the green vase is the tallest, leave those flowers alone. But I would see if you’re able to cut down the grassy plant inside the left vase by about 1-2 inches maybe. So everything is staggered height wise. I would also see if you can find a shorter vase in the front, because there is a lot of unused space in it. If you’re trying to avoid having to buy new stuff, I would try seeing what it looks like without the front vase and it’s contents. Unless it will serve a purpose like holding the table number or something

The white vase and the clear one with the lights are also the same height. I would get rid of the white vase or swap it for something shorter.

I would take them off the plate and spread them out since the tables are rectangular like maybe white clear green.

Sure that’s what I have to do our venue said they had round tables so we designed for a round table when we went to visit they only had rectangle tables 😞we had to spread them out and improvise

I would put something smaller where the cylinder vase is. I feel like that would completely fix the issue.

Hi Kelsey! Congrats on your engagement and upcoming nuptials!!

If you're anything like me, you have a vision in your head and hate that you can't get it to look like your vision. Well, I do see a lot going on but it can be salvaged. Sometimes a little can go a long way. I don't know what your budget is for your centerpieces or your theme. I'm guessing greenery with some type of red.

So here's what I think. The white vase and the silver tray is not giving it the best look. All of the vases being the same height is throwing it off. If you can get rid of the white vase and maybe add some votive candles (maybe 2 or 3) around the bottom and try a glass bottom so there is a reflection off the table, that would be nice. And the green vase could probably use another flower but shorter.

The best way to see what works is to try out different options so you can see what you would prefer. Just like my friends are telling me, I'm passing on the advice. BREATHE! It will all work out in the end!

I actually love the 2 in the back the most. I absolutely agree though with different heights being helpful. I think that would add a little dimension to it and make you feel a little better about it Smiley smile but I love how bright and fresh this looks 😍

I think it's a lot going on. If they were all individual they would be so nice. If I were you I'd probably just stick to one of them

Maybe you can put one of those some place else. Like on the outside of the aisle or someplace else?

Thank you! Yes the theme is greenery with coral. I hate when my vision doesn't match up with reality, which is happening big time with the centerpieces. And I do need to remember to chill out; I went and worked out for an hour which helped my mood a lot!

Great!! I’ve often noticed that it’s a good idea to take a break from something when it’s making u frustrated. That way u can come back and look at it thru fresh eyes.

I prefer the green and white vases together over the larger one with the string lights. I agree the heights of things need to be staggered. I would agree with trimming the greenery that’s in the white vase. Have you tried having the string lights loosely wrapped / clustered around the 2 vases one the silver plater so you still get some light / sparkle without having the third competing vase? You could always hide the battery pack behind whatever you use for table numbers.
