So I did some research to see if this is common with moissanite rings (it’s not) but what is common is a hard to remove film that can appear to be a defect on the ring. It can’t be removed with regular cleaning, but requires a special cloth and vigorous cleaning. Well I don’t have the particular cloth but was curious to see if it was in fact a film on the surface so I took a safety pin and begin to gently scratch at where the “chip” appears...lo and behold it started coming off!!!! I was able to gently remove the film and clean it again and the ring is literally flawless 😩😩
I wrote back to the jewelry apologizing for assuming it was an issue with the manufacturing or craftsmanship of the ring and told him how embarrassed I am for going off and that a replacement ring is unnecessary. He was soooo understanding and actually apologized to me because he never told us that special cleaning would be a thing we should do from time to time. Wow I can’t believe this!! But thank God my ring is in perfect condition and I won’t be needing a replacement and thank God for the amazing jewelry who was so understanding.
Any moissy brides experience what appears to be a defect in their ring? How often do you clean it or how often does this film appear? I am including pics of what I thought was a chip, though it might be hard to see in the photos
