I guess because that’s when they wanted to get married 🤷🏻‍♀️ Lots of couples are making tough decisions right now.

That must be when they want to get married. I don't know of any other decision. Weddings have been greatly effected by this pandemic. Three of our friends have had to postpone their weddings.

The 2 PP were fortunate enough to get married before this whole pandemic and clearly cant fathom how heartbreaking this is for all the COVID brides out there. Our wedding date happend to be right at the start of the shut down but my husband and I decided not to postpone our wedding and got married on our original date but cut our guest list from 300 to less than 30. These are decisions that are so hard to make and you are valid in your feelings that it is so frustrating that your family member decided to set their date 2 days before yours. You already feel like your getting jipped out on your wedding the way it is so i can see why it hurts.

My biggest advice though is just to breathe... Remember the reason for YOUR day because at the end of the day thats all that matters. You got this girl Smiley heart

That might be the only time the venue has available. You don't know. My brother-in-law and his wife got married five weeks after us because that's all the venue had available. We had to change the date we were planning on going with otherwise it would have been even closer to theirs.

Agree with a PP who said this situation is hard to understand unless you’ve actually planned a wedding through Covid. I’m assuming you meant two days before your new date, which is rude. With family, it’s best to leave one month between events cause normally guest list is the same. Just remember it’s still your day and I am sure the two weddings will be totally different and both beautiful in their own way Smiley smile

Ugh! How irritating given that they had also planned their original wedding around the same time as yours! Imitation is a form of flattery!

I'm so sorry you are frustrated. We have been engaged for a year and I was upset earlier this summer because my cousin got engaged and married within 3 months and was doing everything she could to avoid COVID guidelines and rules and so she state hopped to try to get married, while I'm over here trying to decide whether to throw thousands of dollars away to postpone or cancel, or make arrangements to make the wedding COVID friendly. But in the end all you can control is you and it sounds like you are making the best decision for safety, and I really hope you can have your dream wedding someday!

We moved our wedding to next August. My MoH just got engaged two weeks ago (yay!) And informed me that they are planning for the weekend before mine. Like. Why? Can't you pick something a bit further away? She also told me she probably can't be in my bridal party anymore because of how close the weddings are but expects me to be in her bridal party.

That’s messed up. You have a year to replace her and don’t go to hers.
