I had done my research and knew exactly what I wanted. I tried on a bunch of other dresses at 3 other shops (not all in the same day!) and thought for sure this was the one! I was so excited I nearly fainted and I paid for it right then and there. It was a sample, so all sales final. When I got in the car, I looked at the pictures my friend took, and I noticed some aspects of the dress that I didn't notice in the shop. The back was much higher than I thought it was. Plus, I didn't notice in the store, but it's a zipper shoes from behind the buttons. AND I guess I have back fat LOL (so not worried about it, just funny.) I convinced myself that I could add straps, but now when I look online to search photos of straps added to a sweetheart ....and they all still look like strapless dresses, but with straps added! Also, I failed to notice that the bodice was slightly see-through. In person you can't tell, but in photos it makes me look cut in half. I think that can be fixed with a lining, but still not sure how that will look. When I got home, I noticed some of the beading is missing or loose, I should have knows as it was a sample. Also, in person I think the skirt fabric looks crisp and luxurious, but in the photos it looks stiff and heavy - and I feel like the beading on the bodice makes the dress look cheap.
I guess I got so caught up in emotion I was not thinking of the details! I know you all going to tell me it's beautiful and I'm crazy. Has anyone else gone through buyers remorse? I will say that the upside is that the dress was originally $1,950 but half off at $975, so I feel like making changes is going to cost more than the dress. Princess problems! But seriously, anyone had any of the following alterations: straps added, lining added, beading restitched. How much did it cost? Thanks ladies!
