i bought a second dress. Now i have to sell my first... Advice? 😩

I bought my first dress (which is lovely) but then started thinking about one of the very first dresses I had tried on at my first appointment. I made two 6 hour round trips to go try the dress on again and bought it the second time. Now I have my original dress that I NEED to sell. I posted it on facebook and preownedweddingdresses.com. It is originally $1,890. I bought it as a sample so I can’t return it or anything. It’s in perfect condition. I have it posted for $1,000. Do you guys think that is fair? Is there anything you think I can do to get it to sell faster? I really can’t afford to go below $1,000 so I’m hoping I’ll get lucky...

I don't have any experience in selling wedding dresses but yes I think $1000 is totally fair especially since you haven't even worn it. I guess try and give it some time. Good luck!

I also bought two wedding dresses and have been trying to sell since July. I posted on Poshmark and paid $30 for stillwhite with no luck yet. I’m just going to try and be patient and hope it sells! Also try Facebook market. Are you posting anywhere else?! Good luck!

Still white, poshmark and tradesy are some other sites you can post to! I bought a wedding dress off poshmark, however the girl lied to me and told me it was brand new when it was most certainly worn, dirty and ripped. I was thankfully able to return it to her and get my money back.

One of my other friends sold her used wedding dress on poshmark and someone bought it willingly!

    Good luck!!!

Wedding dresses I feel like are so hard to resell /:
It is a reasonable price for what you paid. But you have to keep in mind people looking to buy dresses off of Facebook are probably doing that so they don’t have to pay so much for there dress.

I have had luck on selling 3 of my regretted dresses. I sold all 3 of them on Facebook (wedding dress resale or wedding dresses for sale are the group names- they are privet groups so only people who are in that group can see that you posted your dress for sale) but i also highly recommend Stillwhite and Preowendweddingdress

In my experience - and i don't say this to crush your hope but just telling you what I've experienced. But most people looking for a used dress have a realistic budget of $400 or below.. and most the time don't really care if the dress is brand new or already worn. I sold a dress that retailed for $1,200 (not what i paid for it) but I was only able to get $100 for it.. Obviously if you stick to your guns eventually you will find someone willing to take it for the price you're asking but just be prepared to wait a bit.

I do think $1,000 is fair considering what you paid for it but I think i would recommend going to a consignment shop with it instead. People who are going to an actual store to try on pre owned dresses will typically have a higher budget then those looking on line.

I wish you nothing but luck and i hope it all works out for you!! I know how frustrating it can be but don't give up hope!

Good luck selling your dress! You can try e-bay as well. There's an option to set a minimum bid you're willing to take, so you can set it to only sell if the bidding reaches $1,000.

Do you have pics of your new dress? I'm curious
