i am so frustrated with my makeup trial...

So I had my makeup trial last week. she'd shown me all kinds of pictures of brides she's done makeup for so I went in confident. Let me preface by saying I am very pale and I know this. before our meeting she asked me what shade of foundation I wear (Mac NW10 and NW15 mixed) and she asked me to bring my own because she didn't have the shade. that's fine. I get there, I show the the picture of what I want, I even brought the palette that had all the necessary shades and she tells me she wont need it... ok... I don't see it til its done and I hated it... she didn't do what I showed her at all. She had originally put a dark reddish brown lip stick on me and a orangey blush... I went home and made adjustments and sent her the results and she told me we could do that.

fine.Days later I decided to try my hand at it since I had the tutorial and the palette on hand, and I like my version better... I know my face better. But now im frustrated cos I spent a lot of money on my trial and now I don't want to use her at all because I can do it myself for free... but on the other hand I really didn't want to have to do my own makeup.. I wanted to be pampered just this one day. but if she had done my makeup the way she did ON THE DAY OF I would have cried.... help... Trial is on the left, mine is on the right

    Your version is amazing!!! Way better than the other.

    I wasn’t very thrilled with my makeup trial either. I gave her a bunch of feedback and she adjusted what could be changed. I looked back on the pictures repeatedly over the next 2 months until the wedding and thought maybe I should just do my own.

    But then the day of I told her a couple more tweaks AND she just magically brought it period. Like it turned out amazing! When I looked in the mirror when everything was done I was WOWed just like I expected to be at the trial (but wasn’t).

    Girl with those makeup skills, save the money and do your own! I totally understand not wanting to do your own makeup, but if I were you and had those skills I’d want to either save makeup money and not spend it at all, or spend it elsewhere! The look you did is killer!

    I was so excited for my trial cos I've never had my makeup done for me, and then... that happened.


    I don't know if I'll ever trust someone with my face again. I mean.. I regularly wear a lot of makeup but cake it on, but she beat my face with glitter. I could do shimmer, but she covered my eyes in craft herpes

    I would do it yourself. Your looks soooo good (much more professional than hers). I am doing my own because I know how I like it. I usually takes me an hour to do mine so I am giving myself 2 hours so I won't be rushed.

    I do think yours looks a lot better. Can you afford another trial with someone else? I know they are expensive, I plan on doing 2-3 to make sure I'm happy with it

    I like yours much better, I would suggest practicing it several times so you can cut the application time down. Instead of having the other girl do it maybe take the day of funds and get something to still pamper you and help you relax.

    You have incredible talent! Perhaps the saved money could go to a different area of pampering, like a manicure, facial, or hairstyling?

    Yes, you did a wonderful job. I'm sorry you feel like you wasted money. If you want a mua, go find one! An artist should be able to listen and every face is different which can be a challenge, but if she is claiming to be a mua, then she needs to be aware of that!

    I hate to say it.. but if i were in your shoes.. i would do my own, i think you did a way better job! I would spend another dime on that girl she obviously didnt listen to you!
