How would you kindly remind people to send their Rsvp's back?

How would you kindly remind people to send their RSVP's back?

A facebook status? A text? A phone call? Tell them in person?

I would wait until the deadline passes then text them (or call if they don’t text) and say “Hi! Our RSVP deadline was ___ and I noticed we haven’t received yours yet. We need to get our final headcount to our caterer soon. If we don’t hear from you by ___, we’ll have to mark you down as a no.”

We texted people mostly. I’d wait till the date passes before reaching out. Lots of people wait till the last minute and end up RSVPing so you don’t need to follow up.

My sister reached out to all the people that hadn't sent their's by the deadline and most just forgot. I think calling or texting is the best approach

I made a point of promising myself I wouldn’t reach out to people if they couldn’t be bothered to send rsvp cards back. I gave guests a huge amount of time to decide, and then they cant make the time to check a box and mail it back? Not my problem anymore! I know it sounds harsh but people need to get with the program of how things work.

I definitely wouldn't do a Facebook status because some people don't check Facebook often and you probably don't want to highlight your wedding to all of your Facebook friends, many of whom probably are not invited. I would do a polite email to the guests who haven't RSVP-ed

I have the same dilemma. Do you think it's rude if we reach out and say "We are sorry we will miss you at our wedding, as our RSVP deadline was on ___, we have marked you down as "no" for attendance. ?

I'm putting on the invitation something like please respond by (the date) so we can give our caterer a final head count, thank you

The issue with this is that things get lost in the mail. I had a few people never get the invitation and a few who sent in the RSVP and it never got to us.

You really can't force people to. You allow a window of time (say 1 week) after the deadline date listed on the reply card to collect replies and tally them for your venue/caterer. During that window, you contact people who have not responded and get their response over the phone or via email during that conversation. If you ask and then wait for them to send them in the mail, it will be too late for the catering cut-off date and they won't be counted as a guest unless you tell the caterer or venue a much bigger number than you actually have.
