How to write our wedding date on invitation suite belly band tags??

Soon-To-Be Mrs. G, on January 31, 2018 at 3:45 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 12

Should our wedding date be written 8.25.18 or 8/25/18 on wedding stationery? And who knows why the periods between the day- month- year are even used??

I think this is personal preference. If you're asking about the invitation itself, it should be spelled out. But "day of" and corresponding items is based on your preference. I chose to have the date spelled out everywhere I included it, ex. December 23, 2017. I think there was one place I abbreviated it and I chose 12/23/2017.

For save the dates I've commonly seen periods used. I think it looks cleaner than all of the //////. But you could also write it 25th August 2018 or the twenty-fifth of august twenty-eighteen depending on font. We are about to order save the dates and almost ordered one that had 1.26.2019 on it just because it looked nice and clean. If your wedding is more formal and these are your invitations I'd suggest writing out the date in full.

Thanks @earias and @FutureMrsKC....I like the periods. But had some tell me that it was confusing. By the way....I'm want to use the date like that on the invitation suite belly band tag.

On a formal invitation I think it should be spelled out, like the twenty-fifth of august, two thousand eighteen (not twenty-eighteen, that's not really correct). But on a belly band, or on your save the dates or wedding website, I think you can do either periods or slashes, your call. I did 10.07.16 on my save the dates, but spelled it out "Friday, the seventh of October, two thousand sixteen" on the invitations.

It's a matter of personal preference if you want to write your date with dots, slashes, or hyphens. As far as grammar is concerned one way isn't any more "correct" than another. 8.7.18 or 8/7/18 or 8-7-18 should all be clear enough for your guests to understand!

Hi do what ever looks right to you as long as there is a date on the invite people aren't looking at the periods or slants. I like the periods and even better if you don't like either maybe you can consider having your wedding date written out.
