How to word optional masks & social distancing

Jordan, on February 25, 2021 at 6:48 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

We are having our wedding in June 2021 and are not making masks mandatory but they are more than welcome to wear one if they would like. I would like to put this on our invites to give our guests a heads up in case they don't feel comfortable attending the wedding. Does anyone have any ideas on how to word optional masks and/or social distancing?

You could put some thing on your wedding website like “ mask mandates will not be enforced and can be worn only if you choose to do so.”
you could on the other hand also say something like ‘fk your masks’ although some might not take that too well LOL

This is what we are putting on our wedding website “while we feel our wedding day will be a safe event to attend, we understand the valid concerns of COVID-19 that some of you may have and we ask that if you have any concerns regarding COVID-19 to please attend virtually only.”

What you said was fine, no need to make it more complicated: “We will not be making masks mandatory but you are more than welcome to choose to wear one if you’d like.”

If you want it even simpler, you could put “masks not mandatory.” I know if I wanted to wear a mask, I’d send a text and ask

Keep it simple- masks are not mandatory. We’re not enforcing them at ours. Our venue will provide masks & hand sanitizers at no additional cost to us.

I think something very simple and to the point will be perfect - on your website or invitations, or both!

A simple "mask are not required" would be fine!

I wouldn't put it on the invites, but I would put it in the FAQ section of the website
