How to wear rings for ceremony

Laura, on September 8, 2019 at 9:44 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 9
So I have no idea how I’m supposed to wear my ring(s) before/during the ceremony. I have an engagement ring and the set came with two matching bands.
Do I wear one band behind my engagement ring and have him put the other on during the ceremony? Do I have him put them both on? Wear does my e-ring go then?
I’m sure I’m overthinking this but nothing seems right. How do most of you plan to do it/did it?

Most wear their e-rings on the right hand before the ceremony and then stack it on the wedding band. You could do something similar but only use one of the bands during the ceremony. Then before pictures, add your second band.

Hmm. We’re doing pictures before the ceremony so that isn’t a factor. But I think I like your right hand concept. If a ring will stay on my right hand-my left hand fingers are almost a size bigger than my right! Maybe I could wear it on middle finger?
    Thanks for the input.

I wont be wearing my ring at all until it is put on my finger as my wedding band. It will be soldered to my wrap.

I’ve thought about getting mine soldered but I’m not sure I would like them that way, and you can’t exactly undo once it’s done. I plan to wear it as three separate rings for at least a few weeks before I make a final decision on getting that done. (Although I suspect the difficulty in keeping them properly lined up may drive me nuts!)

Another option is keep your e ring on your finger and have him place both bands on above it then switch them after the ceremony.

This is what I would go with.

I have the same issues as you, Except that my right hand is bigger than my left and my e-ring wouldn’t fit even if I wanted to wear it on my right hand! I ended up wearing my e-ring on my left hand for the entire ceremony, then just took it off and handed it to him for him to put both on. It actually worked out perfectly doing it that way! Since you have two bands, I would just slip the second band on after the ceremony.

Im going to have the same issue with mine. I figured I would wear the bottom band and engagement ring and then have him place the top band during the ring exchange. I'm fairly non-traditional though and just want the easiest option, so take that with a grain of salt Smiley smile
