How to Uninvite

Leanne, on July 29, 2020 at 10:52 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 4
We postponed our April wedding to September. Now in our region, social gatherings are limited to 50 people not including vendors. My RSVP due date is today, and I already have over 50 yes responses.

***My question is, who here has uninvited people to their wedding based on Covid circumstances? How did you do it & how did you word it, etc.? I already know who we will cut, this is specifically asking for wording and methods of uninviting people.

This website has a pretty well-worded template for uninviting people: https://theeverylastdetail.com/coronavirus-wedding-postponement-email-templates-to-send-to-guests/

I would also suggest sending it via the same method that you sent your invites. If you mailed your invites, I would mail a letter to uninvite. If you emailed invites, then send the uninvite letter through email.

You’re a saint! Love the wording on that site, and agree Mail is best.

I agree that the wording on that site is awesome!! I used a few of their templates while we were going back and forth in trying to decide whether to postpone, uninvite, etc., and it was super helpful. I bookmarked the site just so I can share it with anyone else that may need it. Best wishes!
