How to serve soda?

Chelsea, on March 1, 2019 at 8:41 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 11
So we are having a backyard wedding. I’m just now trying to figure out how I want to serve non alcoholic drinks. We have one bartender coming to pour beer and wine for 100 guests. Not everyone drinks though. I’m trying to cut back on garbage as much as possible. So I’m wondering if it’s best to get 2 liters for the bartender to pour? Or if cans or bottles is just the easiest way to go.
I was also thinking it would be awesome to rent a small soda fountain but I haven’t been able to find something like that available anywhere. Just looking for different ideas maybe I haven’t thought of!

Our venue is a winery and they are only serving the alcoholic beverages. We are just buying a bunch of cans of pop and bottles of water to put in large tubs of ice.

How about getting those big party jugs with the pouring spout so people can serve themselves?

To save on people wasting pop, you could get little 9 oz plastic cups for the bartender to pour. That way if people forget where they left their drink they aren't wasting the whole can.

I'd much prefer a can of cold soda over having a pour from a 2 liter. Soda in a 2 liter goes flat pretty quickly.

Get cans and set them in a cooler. That’s what my cousin did. She had bartenders for the alcohol and if you wanted something non alcoholic you could skip the line and pick something from a cooler.

I would say to do cans, bottles, etc. as that is their cup too and you can recycle it and maybe (depending on where you live) possibly get a little money back on them! I would be afraid of the drinks not being too cold or go flat, etc.

That’s a great question never really thought about it. I’m having a similar wedding. Maybe those new smaller cans.

Get on of those big wide circular tin containers full with ice and out your soda in those. Pinterest has some of those ideas.

I would think liters would save money, since the bartender is pouring and guests aren't taking bottles or cans and opening but not finishing them. But bottles/cans in a cooler seems a little easier.
