So we’re getting married 12/9/18 and I have this space where we’re gonna have our reception and ceremony. My only issue is that when the ceremony is over and me and my wedding party and fiancé go to take pictures how are we gonna have a room flip done with the guest still in the room. I don’t like...

I don’t like ceremony table seating I think it’s tacky. The room has a divider that goes half way across. But we’re not sure how to set up a layout and keep our guest entertained at the same time.

Please see Happy Hedgie’s response. It’s fine to not like something & not want it, but it’s insulting to others who may be doing that to call it “tacky.” Just saying.

I gave you some suggestions. I‘m not trolling and I’m also not the only one who saw a problem there. I’m far from butthurt over your comment/opinion. Hope you have a lovely wedding!

I'm right there with you bc I'll be doing the same thing. We do have space for a cocktail hour in front of the venue but it just makes more sense to do the setup without flipping the room. I'm good with it and think itll be just fine.

We are asking everyone to leave the room while it gets turned over. It's only an hour gap so it will be fine.

Our guests would have to leave for 20 mins while they set it up... I’m getting married with people at the tables and have 40 people up front in rows... saves me $750 - couldn’t justify the extra cost just to have the room reset and more inconvienent then turning right into the reception... I created my own aisle alongside all the tables and our dj will announce... it’s becoming more common since venues are starting to charge as much as the room costs for it to be reset

But that can go for anything thing. Potluck wedding, cash bar wedding, large gap wedding, no dj wedding,no food wedding, etc. There is still someone doing it who may be offended by the word tacky as related to their event. This is her personal opinion, just as much as the things I just listed are just opinions and different way to do things.

I wouldn't have a ceremony at the receptions eating OP, have a small cocktail hour, even though it is brunch and flip the space behind the divider and get some pipe and drape to put up. Plus the pipe and drape will be fun when you make your entrance as the bride and once again as a couple.
