Hi,

Working on my wedding website and need some ideas/pointers on how it should flow. Im anxious tonshare it but its just nit ready.
What should I put on the welcome page: a short bio, our story?
I don't want to bore anyone either with too much reading...lol.I'd love to see examples of other's website, if you dont mind sharing. Thanks in advance for any fresh and creative ideas. -Estrella

For the welcome page just have your favorite engagement picture with your names, date, venue city. Your story can go on a separate page. I don't think you need a bio since hopefully these are your nearest and dearest people.

My welcome page starts with our names, the date and city and state, followed by a quick welcome and I have a short paragraph for covid updates so people don't have to go searching for it, and then I have "our story"'.

You don't have to include your story, but every wedding I've been to has one on their site and I personally enjoy reading the cheesy stories. The other tabs I have are Our Wedding - venue address, attire, and the times for everything, Accommodations, Wedding Party, Additional Info - answers to questions guests may have, and Registry. The RSVP tab is hidden until I send out invitations.

Honestly, the main reason people go to the wedding website is to find the registry, RSVP, or look up the hotel block information. I wouldn't stress too much about all the little details like your story or bio, as long as you have the main things that people are coming on there for.

This. I figure if they're coming to the event, they know you and your fiance so bios and stories just don't seem necessary.

Also, I admit I don't know what a welcome page is? Is it the homepage? If so- I'd keep that page simple. A picture, a short into paragraph. If you want to do bios and stories I'd put that on it's own tab.
Based on your reply in the comments about personal and intimate, I'd suggest something different than bio or story- maybe funny trivia, interesting facts, one of those "shoe game" guessing games? That seems fresh and creative. Smiley smile
