How to make it look more like a nightclub????

MistysoontobeBell, on August 31, 2012 at 12:33 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 10

What about the centerpieces for my "Nightclub" themed reception???? I think I will walk in in my wedding dress. Then do all the wedding pic stuff then slip into the bathroom and change into a nightclub dress. What do you think???? We are having the glow sticks, maybe a fog machine, 2 signature drinks with wine, champain and beer, I will be making a sign to go over the doors to the reception area that says "Club Bell" (FH last name is Bell) and a lounge area. What else could we do to have it look more like a nightclub?

I have to admit, I'm not well versed in night club looks. I think the lighting might be really important and having great music (although that's not something you look at). I think certerpieces should be something really funky. Like maybe these cool glowing jars or glow necklaces around vases?

    What's your budget?

Uplighting and lots of candlelight are key, I think. When it's party time you can dim the overhead lights and make it feel really dark and swanky.

Do you have any cash for furniture rentals? A couple of leather couches would be awesome. Might only run you a couple hundred bucks.

Floating candle or submersible LED-lit centerpieces would be better than flowers.

    Red carpet?

    Velvet Rope.

We have a rental company here that has that type of stuff to rent. So, I would look into that if I were you.

@ Misty... I specialize in the "Nite Club" look. But, don't expect it for anything under $1500. I'll include a video of one of my "Nite Club" weddings below so you know about what you should be getting from your vendor.

In order to get "THAT" look and feel, you'll need lots of lights that move and change colors (not to mention a DJ or lighting tech who knows what the heck they are doing). You're not going to find that on Craigslist... sorry.

I'd be happy to give you details so you know what to ask your perspective vendor... Click on my picture, and you'll find links to contact me. I am two weddings away from retiring, so I'm not after your business... but will steer you in the right direction.

Here are some pics of the venue. They have back lite walls and neat lights. They already have the lounge area too. I was looking in to renting a red carpet and velvet rope.

Bottle service, small furniture groupings, glowing LED furniture, velvet ropes, security guards, moving lights, LED walls, etc. Live entertiners, like clowns on rollerskates, living sushi bars, etc. Skip the uplights.
