How to make a non-alcoholic wedding fun!

Nicole, on March 2, 2023 at 10:45 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 3
Any suggestions!? I’ve seen ideas on Pinterest of games or something of this sort… we’re not having alcohol/dancing bc of cultural opinions (which is perfect with me) but I want to make sure to have a fun activity or game or attraction for those who are not necessarily part of this non-alcoholic/dancing culture🫠 and suggestions?!

Even if you’re not dancing, is there any background music you can play to set the vibe? Even if it relates to the culture? I’ve seen other people have really cool stories about live musicians who either played chill music because they weren’t going for a party/dance vibe, so they had the tables set up so there was clearly no dance floor, etc, and it sounded fun because it was more like being at a restaurant with live performers in the background. You could also still do fun drinks like smoothies or something so that you still get to play around with your drink menus. Are you going to be outdoors where you can have lawn games? I’m not a big drinker, so I wouldn’t be disappointed in a non-alcohol reception at all as long as there was still good food, fun people to chat with, and still some sense of a celebratory vibe.

You might include some brain teaser puzzles. There are some wood puzzles to loosen a ring that seems unable to freed. Or other wood puzzles which are difficult to take apart or put together. There are some ideas at: https://www.rd.com/article/visual-brain-teasers-and-puzzles/ . One option seemed to be the pictures that represent movies. If those were enlarged and presented individually (maybe to each table), the first table to guess the movie wins that round.

I really don't think games are necessary. I think a lot of people will find it refreshing simply to be able to hear the conversation at the tables and to mingle with other guests in between courses. I've seen a lot of weddings feature photo booths as an activity, which people seem to enjoy. I agree that background music would be nice.
