How to keep the invite and rsvp card together

Pszab, on March 1, 2017 at 9:59 AM Posted in Planning 0 19

Just ordered invitations and rsvp cards from vista print. Need some input

Can I just put them inside the envelope or am I supposed to somehow group the together? Ribbon? I'm trying to keep the invitation cost down since I rather allocate the money towards something else instead

What would yo do?

You can do some twine, or even make a small belly band from cardstock. I made mine for my pocket invitation:

I bought pocket fold envelopes from cardsandpockets.com, and made custom stickers to seal them shut on vistaprint.

    They were very reasonably priced.

Same as jsarge. People expect an rsvp card with a wedding invitation. It's nice to add a band or something but may get bulky and cost more postage.

I'm just shoving everything in the envelope, no bands, stickies, twine, NADA. So not necessary if you're looking to save.

eta: when are you sending yours out?! I changed my mind and will be sending them 9-10 weeks out. I'm hitting up the post office today with one of the invites to see how much it weighs.

I'm doing the same as PP's, just throwing everything into an envelope. Keeping my shipping costs as low as possible. Right now they're the standard stamp weight, and I plan on keeping it that way lol

You can just put it all in the envelope. None of your guests will care about the ribbon. It will go in the trash

I put them in the same envelope. Nothing fancy, people got the idea and sent back their rsvp in the already stamped rsvp envelope.

Not necessary. Here is how to place them in the envelopes. If you are using inner/outer sets, you should leave the inner envelope unsealed.

We just put ours (invitation, reception card, hotel info, RSVP card) in the envelope. I stressed for weeks trying to find a matching belly bands or ribbon and just decided at the end to forget it. We haven't heard of any problems!

Yup, no twine, belly bands, extra envelopes, etc. Just the invite, info card, rsvp card, and rsvp envelope went into one envelope.

I'm, all about not spending a small fortune on an invite so I'm just shoving the invite, RSVP card, and RSVP envelope in the bigger envelope, writing their name and address, then throwing it in the mail. IMO no one will really care what fancy bands or anything are on the invite as most of the time the invite goes in the trash after they write the date on the calendar and send back the RSVP.

We are having the ceremony and reception at the same place - so no need for reception card otherwise I'd add that too.

Also is it lazy of me that instead of making an information card I just typed out on the back if the invite for more information to check out our wedding website... all of our guests have internet access and use computers so they can just go on there for the hotel and stuff...

I was going to just stick them in the envelope. Then my ocd for "perfection" kicked in and I bought belly bands. It's an added unnecessary expense, but cost was low, about $ from cards and pockets. They will just be tossed in the trash, and no one will care, but my finished product will be to my personal liking.

You don't need anything, and no one will care, just you. I did it because I'm that person that needs to finish everything to my satisfaction on everything. Gifts, invites, college papers etc

@Cassie-that's what I did. I noted our wedding website on the back of the invitation and also at the bottom of the rsvp card

I did pocketfold envelopes as well. I got them from paper and more.
