How to incorporate pets?

Jordan, on August 27, 2019 at 12:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

My fiance and I have the most amazing dog, Jazzy. We'd love to incorporate her into our wedding, but having her AT the wedding isn't exactly an option for us. We are only 32 days away from our day, how can we include her without having her there?

We do already have a cake topper made to look like us that has her on it as well. Looking for additional ideas.

Our dog was in our ceremony, but since that isn't an option for you guys: cake topper, signature drink name, pictures displayed of you & your dog, including your dog in your engagement shoot, dog-themed favors, dog-themed table numbers.

Table numbers ! Take a photo of your dog wearing a different number around their neck or something like that.

Some people do signature cocktails. You can pick your favorite drink and call it the Jazzy for people to order! There are signs on pinterest or etsy you could order for one

There's a service in my area (FairyTale Pet Care) that takes care of your dog and will help incorporate them into your wedding however you see fit. We don't want our dog in the ceremony, but we are instead having him come for pictures. You could look into Rover or Wag and see if you could arrange something with a dog walker to assist in having Jazzy there for pics.

All the other poster came up with some great ideas if there's no way Jazzy can be there! I've also seen online a guestbook that would have a cartoon lookalike of bride/groom and pet for guests to sign around. Something like this: https://www.etsy.com/listing/720191035/custom-illustration-guestbook?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=guestbook+alternative&ref=sr_gallery-1-44&organic_search_click=1&frs=1

I recently went to a wedding where the signature drink was named after the couple's dog. It was displayed on a sign at the bar with an artist's rendering of the dog. It was honestly adorable. The couple also had someone bring the dog by for a handful of photos between the ceremony and the reception.

I just saw someone's wedding photos where they got a cardboard photo of their cat made to include in their pictures and it was actually super cute.
