How to incorporate my soon to be step daughter

Hello again, lol. I’m looking for unique ideas for ways to incorporate my 12 year old soon to be step daughter in our ceremony. No sand/candle ceremony or writing something to her, I’m looking for something unique, I’m tired of seeing the same old things that everyone does.

So thoughtful of you to include your soon to be step daughter!! Off the top of my head, special reading or poem, maybe a special necklace gift, if she is musical perhaps a song to perform, a dance with her dad at the reception, or a family balloon release. Hope this helps!! 🌺

You could have her sip tea or juice that you offer her symboling that she accepts you as her stepmom. Research chinese tea wedding ceremonies.

She could be a junior bridesmaid, however that’s not unique. Does she have any special talents? (Dancing, singing, poetry etc) if so you could have her perform something

I saw on one site where you, your fiance and your kids each have a small jar of your favorite candy that you pour into a larger vase.

I did the sand ceremony and vows to her (promising to help raise her to be a confident, happy adult etc), but I also made sure to get her input as much as possible on things like what she'd be wearing, how her hair was styled, etc. She and I baked the cake the day before and she iced it the morning of (since it was an elopement and we didn't have to feed a crowd).

She helped me get ready and zipped up my dress.

I bought her this bracelet on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/738207568/step-daughter-gift-bonus-daughter?ref=yr_purchases

And here's a link to my elopement photos if you're curious:

I really like the idea of saying vows to her as well...vowing to be a good stepmother, to always have her be part of your family, etc.
