How to include sister in laws

Kiley, on May 6, 2020 at 2:17 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 5
Hi guys! So I'm having a small destination wedding and made the choice to ask my two best friends to be my bridesmaids and my sister to be my maid of honor. Initially we decided to do the big wedding and then realized it just wasn't true to our personalities and decided to have a small beach wedding in Hawaii. So It's more an honorary thing because we aren't having them walk down the isle or anything but just wanted them to know how important they are to me and wanted them included in getting hair and makeup done and the whole experience with me. My fiancé has three sisters who I adore but didn't ask them to be in the wedding because I felt like having 7 bridesmaids was just insanity but with that being said I want to include them to some degree and so I wanted to get them a robe made so they can take the pics with al of us I obviously will have a bride robe my sister maid of honor and my friends bridesmaids but what special thing could I write on the back of their robes ? Any suggestions would be super appreciated! Thank you

You could do some bride tribe or bride squad gifts and get all the people included even if they don’t have a title like MOH or bridesmaid. I’m doing something similar for my sister in laws too. Something small like a coozie or tumbler cup to use at the beach would be cool, or even some cute parasols? Custom sunglasses would be cute too.

    Perhaps, Bride Entourage or Squad.

Maybe give them a hand written card to express your appreciation, along with a necklace they can all wear to the wedding.

I don't know if I would necessarily consider what you are describing as honoring anyone. Normally if you want to honor someone in your wedding, you include them in the ceremony or reception in some way like giving a speech or reading a poem so I personally don't see how your best friends or sister are being honored as bridesmaids/maid of honor. As for your future sister-in-laws, if you go with calling your friends and maid of honor those titles then I would think your sister-in-laws could also be considering bridesmaids as they would be getting ready with you just like your friends and sister.

We're traveling to Hawaii so I thought I would get everyone a custom luggage tag and a makeup bag and then a neck pillow and then the robe! Thank you for your ideas! That was really helpful
