How to include pets (cats)?

Furure Mrs., on March 2, 2020 at 6:32 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

FH and I have the sweetest little cats that we are trying to find a way to include in our wedding day. We had hoped to have some pictures taken with them, but they get scared and run when there are lots of people/people they don't know well. They would also have so much fun playing with my dress and veil, and I don't want them ruined by little kitty claws. And we don't want them to be stressed spending the whole day in an unfamiliar environment (the house on the farm where we will be getting married). Has anyone come up with any creative ideas to include pets that aren't able to be there the day of your wedding?

Maybe before the guest arrives you can snap some photos with them?

Do you also mean maybe having stuff like table numbers as photos of the pets?

If not too late, can you include them in your engagement photos? I’ve also seen pictures where signature drinks are named after pets!

We included our fur baby in our engagement photos. If you haven’t had them yet and plan on taking them i recommend that.

I am trying to find somewhere that can make a small figurine that looks like my car to put on the cake, on the side that we will be cutting. Just so my FH and I can see it and have a little piece of her there

Love my kitties to death and I would not subject them to the stress of coming to a wedding, haha.

Like PP mentioned: we're planning on naming our signature drinks after them and we'll probably print them on our coasters or disposable napkins at the bar Smiley smile

To include our cat I had someone draw her photo and put the drawing on the place cards!

Kitties don’t do well with any group activity (or stress). What about kitty photos as part of your centerpiece decor, kitty cake topper, signature cocktails named after them?

One couple here had a cardboard cutout made of their cat and took photos with it at their wedding! 🐱 🐱

I wanted to maybe get a professional photo with our cat while getting ready 😅 he's our baby. And if I had the budget, having a cocktail named after him would be fun, or a dessert. 😊

I agree with the previous posters that said to include them in your engagement photos. Or, you could include them in photos on your Save the Dates. You could also have a photo-shoot with them and your FH and have those photos displayed during your reception; maybe at your guest book and/or gift/card table.

What about getting pictures of them blown up (kind of like cardboard cutouts) and taking fun pictures with those? If you had a photobooth guests could use those too!

Or you could frame some pictures of them and have them displayed at the bar, and name a signature drink after them!

Thanks ladies! These are some great ideas!

Unfortunately we weren't able to have them join us for our engagement pictures, but we have considered having our photographer come to our new house when we move in and take some pictures there that would include them.
