How to include my younger sister in the wedding?

Lexi, on May 30, 2019 at 11:42 AM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 7
Hey guys! So I have a minor problem. I am getting married in the fall of next year and I have already choosen my bridal party which consists of 3 of my closest friends and my other sister who is a year younger who is my MOH. I can not figure out how to include my younger sister in the wedding. I want to make her feel special but I also dont want her to be a bridesmaid, she is 13 will be 14 by the time of the wedding. I thought flower girl but she is kind of old for that. I am out of Ideas and I want to include her but if I make her a bridesmaid it will make our wedding party uneven for pictures and that will drive me crazy and FH doesnt have anyone else to had to his side as he only has his 2 brothers. So if you ladies have any ideas that would includer her let me know because I cant think of anything.

I'd just make her a jr. bridesmaid and have uneven parties, it's super common and most weddings I've been to lately have them. If you don't want to do that, she could hand out programs I guess?

Exactly this! My little sister is the same age (13 now will be 14 at the wedding), she’s jr. bridesmaid. We also have uneven sides (more grooms people) 🙂

As PPs said, uneven bridal parties are totally fine! Including your sister as a junior bridesmaid would be a great way to include her!

A junior bridesmaid, she doesn't have to have a partner.

She can do a reading or poem at the ceremony.

She can be an usher and help seat people at the ceremony.

If you have a flower girl that is really young she can be the escort for her down the aisle.

Thanks guys! I've been debating this for quite some time. I think I will just make her a brides maid. I have been trying to keep my side down due to the fact that FH only has 2. Maybe she can also walk with our tiny rind bearer (he will be 1).

These are great ideas! Yes, I can't imagine not honoring a sibling in some way for a wedding. It's a family affair first! A junior bridesmaid is probably the best option.
