Anonymous, on March 15, 2012 at 12:48 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

Sunday is the last day too book hotel rooms we really need 10 rooms booked so that we get a free room and free shuttle for everyone

So far only 4 are booked! And I know a lot of our friends forgot so I want to post a status reminding everyone to book their room if they haven't because Sunday is the last day

Only problem is that all of your FB friends (I'm assuming) are not invited to the wedding. So, you might get people asking why they were not invited.

I would send out an email.

We Can't wait to Celebrate with you!

Please reserved your hotel room. Discounted rate of $XX.xx only available until 3.29

We are having an Open Bar and a Great DJ and expect everyone to have a Good Time.

However, we wish everyone to party safe. Please book a room and join us the next morning for breakfast.

Send everyone an email or call them. Unless everyon on your FB is invited to the wedding I wouldnt put that info up there. Might lead to uncomfortable scenario with people wondering where their invite is

I defintely would refrain from using FB for any wedding stuff. I've been using emails. If you are using your wedding website via WW, there is a share option you can use to create a custom message.

As soon as I found out we were going to block off rooms at a hotel I started a FB event and asked everyone if they would be interested In booking a room for the night of the wedding so i could get an idea of how many people might actually book one or not and wheather we would have enough people to get the shuttle and free room. We got about 20 responses so we went ahead and blocked the rooms. I am going to update the event on FB and let everyone know next month that they should start to book their rooms if they haven't already. For the people that do no have FB or use a computer to check our wedding website we are telling them by word of mouth. My FMIL is telling all of her friends and family that do not have FB or use a computer and the majority of my family is already informed but I will be calling my grandparents before everyone else and updating my FB event in April to let them know to book a room before everyone else so they can get a room.

IF you really really want to use FB, you could edit the post so that it is only visible to the people who are invited. (I think there is a way to put people in categories that way...)

I agree with the other ladies. If you don't know all your friends e-mails (I know I don't) I would either send a quick message via FB to your friends (in a big group) or send out a mass text telling them can't wait to see you, we have alot of fun activities planned, just want to remind everyone that sunday the 29th of march is the last day you can reserve a room at the discount rate we have set aside for the wedding. Thanks and can't wait to see you in blank amount of months.

-your name and future hubby's name here.

Simple and yet it shows that they aren't alone and you aren't singling any one out.

I did a fb event and have been sending notes and stuff like that to certain people through the event so they know they're included and important to us Smiley smile so its not just like an open event that everyone can see.. Smiley smile
