How to handle dress issues?

Kelley , on June 10, 2019 at 4:04 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4
So honestly, I think I just need a boost. I had my first dress fitting 2 days ago and it was horrible. The dress around my bust was too small and showed way to much cleavage, and it looks too poofy on the bottom now. Then my mom said I need to lose 30 pounds when I clearly already felt terrible... my wedding is 4 months away... I work out and eat well... I just feel terrible.

Any exercise advice for upper arm and breast area?

First of all, take a deep breath. It's normal for the dress to not fit you all that well yet at your first fitting. Each time you go after this, it will begin to fit you better and better. My dress fit me horribly at my first fitting. The bottom was a huge cathedral train and 16+ layers of tulle. It was huge and, being 5'1, completely overwhelmed me. Now, a few months later, I am picking it up this week and it fits me like a glove.

As for weight loss/exercise, I would just keep working out and eating as clean as much as possible. I didn't need/want to lose any weight for my wedding and I just normally focus on eating really well and fitting in exercise into my daily life whenever possible, so that is all I really did for my dress. If you're looking to tone up the upper body, I would try doing things like push ups, arm machines at the gym, planks, etc. Look for exercises that target those specific areas and also full body positions that will overall tone you.

Thanks. I’m trying to stay positive, and I’ve been completely fine until this fitting... I need to speak to my seamstress about the fluffiness as well. I appreciate knowing other people’s first fitting didn’t go as planned... I was just so looking forward to it. I have a cathedral train as well so the bottom of my dress is also very fluffy.

Jillian Michaels has an app with a program called Wedding Warrior. I highly recommend it to you. Do lots of push ups, plank variations, chest flies/presses, tricep dips. Eat good and you'll meet your goal. You can do it
