How to get tulle to attach to a gazebo?

J <3 B, on February 7, 2015 at 12:03 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 7

I'd like to decorate the gazebo with tulle for our wedding. How would I get the tulle to stay on the gazebo? Tacks, nails, tape? I'm not sure we're allowed to use tacks or nails. I have to check on that. Tie it with ribbons maybe?

Do they make command strips for outdoor use? Do you think that would work?

What part of the gazebo are you attaching it too? and do you have a picture of the gazebo or the style of it? If it has railing then you could just use a strip of the tulle itself and tie it around the railing and it will blend in. Or yes, you could tie it with coordinating ribbon color.

The easiest way is to use zip ties. You can cover them with ribbon if you want. They give you a good, tight hold -- better than just ribbon alone. Plus, they allow for a more symmetrical result. It's tough to get two ribbons tied at exactly the same length. You can determine how many notches you want to pull through on the tie, and do the same thing on both sides. We use them all the time.

When it's time to take the tulle down, snip, snip, and it done. No holes from tacks or staples and no peeling paint from adhesives.

Thanks all! The first picture is where our wedding will be. The second is how I would like to decorate it. Or at least decorate the front of it. Might not have the flowers though.

Command strips for outside use would probably be perfect, they come in clear so they won't show!
