How to get ordained

Paige, on October 19, 2019 at 4:38 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 5
We want a friend to officiate our wedding here in Michigan. While I know it varies by state, how should she go about getting ordained? I want to have some details for her before my FH and I ask her to do it so it’s not too overwhelming for her. Any good websites with reliable information?

Look up the requirements for your county. There are many websites that can walk you through everything. It's pretty simple.

Should we look up our county that we reside or the county we are getting married?

Some states don't allow people to be ordained online to perform a wedding at least not legally so my suggestion is to check with the court house near where you plan on getting married.

Typically licenses need to be filed in the county where the ceremony takes place. Check with that county first.

Find the county that you were getting married in and look up the requirements. Many places will allow you to get ordained online
