How To Get a Marriage License - a Step by Step Guide

How to get a marriage license:

Step 1: Have the courthouse shut down doing marriages.
Step 2: Call the courthouse to see if you can still get a marriage license... but no one answers.
Step 3: Your MOH calls, and she lets you know they are still issuing licenses.
Step 4: Show up to courthouse. But they won't issue a marriage license, because it's election day.
Step 5: Sit in your Jeep with your head in your hands.
Step 6: Show up at 8 am the next morning... discover the office opens at 8:30.
Step 7: Rearrive at the courthouse at 8:29 to find that the police are stationed outside the doors and stopping everyone before they go in.
Step 8: Call your fiance. And with no explanation, tell them "Get to the courthouse now."
Step 9: Talk to the cops. Answer the coronavirus questions.
Step 10: Apply for marriage license.
Bonus step: Put marriage license in the cabinet with your alcohol. It just makes sense.

Aww. We got our marriage license 2 weeks ago. It was a hectic week for me and I almost lost my phone because I left it at the counter of the clerks office. It was a straight coincidence that I got my phone back right when we had walked 10 min to our car and was about to start driving 30min back home.

Sidenote: can we technically sign our marriage license as being married on April 4th even tho we weren’t married just so we can keep our wedding date? Lol

Wow! Good thing i got mine last thurs. I wouldn't have guessed this would happen, but i felt like maybe God really did want us to get married on our date. We were planning on getting it this week. So i'm happy we were able to avoid the shut down. But funny story lol. Its like its not our year lol.

We went and got ours yesterday morning! Thankfully our courts haven’t shut down yet but I imagine it’s just a matter of time, so I wanted to make sure we have it to be prepared with whatever plan we have to go with.
