How to fire your florist?

Jessica, on April 3, 2017 at 5:14 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

So I think I'm going to fire my florist... she's unresponsive, really unorganized and was rude to my MOH. Does anyone have any suggestions on the most tactful way to handle this? Maybe what verbiage I should use or avoid?

She is unresponsive, unorganized and rude. And you are now afraid of hurting her feelings? I would just state that you will no longer be of need of her services. There are plenty of people who would be honored to be of service to you,

Well first, do you have another florist who can do your wedding on such short notice? Your wedding is in two months.

Have you made a deposit with her/will you lose it if you fire her?

If you do decide to go with another florist, just send her an email letting her know. "We've decided another florist would work better for our needs. Please let me know what steps to take to cancel our contract with you. Thank you".

    1. Determine if it's in your budget to fire your florist.

    2. Find another florist if flowers are important to you.

    3. Send an email saying you are backing out of the contract with the first florist. Explain your reasoning but be decisive and not wishy-washy. They will probably try to win your contract back, especially if you have not paid in full yet.

    4. Wait for a response. If none, follow up with a call or in person visit.

I agree with all 3 of the responses above.

Make sure you do fire her via email so you have a record, in case she tries to collect your full contract balance. Keep the message short and to the point. You don't owe her an explanation, you just need to let her know you don't need her services.

"We no longer require your services". Simple enough. You owe her nothing. And I agree, in writing is best. I'm pretty nonconfrontational so I totally get where you're coming from. Just put it out there and not go into detail.

What does your contract say? Before you do anything, ,make sure you don't own the full amount even if you cancel.
