How to Fire a Vendor

The second vendor we booked after our venue was our photographer. Her work was amazing, and even though she was a bit high in price for our area, we put down the $1,000 budget because photography was super important to us, and we knew she could give us photos we really want. Fast forward 5 months and all wedding season she's been posting pictures and her photos are no longer what they were. She's been taking photographs that are just plain weird. In a few it's as though she's a peeping tom spying on people and the backgrounds are much more focus than the couple. Anyways, we won't get the deposit back, but the contract states if we were to cancel it needs to be in writing. Would you send a certified letter for this?

Our photographer is more edgy and artsy and that isn't everyone's style. But she has stated that she works with what the client wants and does images from all types of aspects. Everyone else is right. If you are nervous, email or have FH talk to her. Are you nervous and that is why you just want to get rid of her?

Is it her work you dislike or her putting down of not cool weddings? If it's her personality, then go ahead and fire her. You can't change a person's personality. I had to do that with my original DOC. I lost my $500 deposit, but it was worth it to not have to deal with a woman that was rude and judgmental. If it's the new work that you dislike, definitely talk to her - maybe send her the photos you really like and the photos you really dislike so she can get a better idea of what you do/don't want.
