How to "dress up" seating?!

Amanda, on October 28, 2017 at 7:36 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 11

Hello! I am having a small destination wedding in Maroon Bells, CO. The back drop is beautiful! The seating is kind of, ehhh. I need help on ideas on how to "dress it up". Any suggestions?! Anything is helpful, I'm getting married at the end of May.

Maroon Bells -- swoon! So beautiful.

I think a simple flower arrangement and perhaps some candles at the end of each row would look lovely.

It depends on your budget and how much work you want to do.

You can make or buy cushions.

You can place a row of potted cedars or birch trees along the top- these can be rented from a local nursery.

You could do a similar idea but only have one potted cedar at each end.

You can get two huge baskets and fill them with potted flowering plants and place one at each end. These can be re-used at the reception on either side of the entrance or near the gift and guestbook tables.

You could use shepherds hooks- two inserted into the ground and two with bases placed on the lower level. Use for hanging baskets or grapevine balls.

We can't see the other side, but you might want to focus some attention there. That is the side that will be in your pics of the ceremony. What you do on one side should be echoed on the other.

Is there a theme for your wedding? Potted plants are good. My wedding had a fall theme and we used apple baskets, you can see some on the sides of the backdrop in this picture. Maybe something like that, depending on your theme?

Love this venue! Almost used it for ours too, but went with a winter date in Breck Smiley smile I know you're limited with what you can bring in tho right? I would go with a potted plant or arrangement of some type if you feel it needs something. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it... the view is what people will be swooning over anyway!

Love the cushion idea- you could probably make your own pretty easily with fabric from eBay.

I think it's fine as is, really, remember the people sitting in them will help cover them up.

Cushions are a great idea! Or just drape the seats with some simple white fabric to make it nicer to sit on.

Thank you everyone! I love the cushion idea and to add some plants. Since it is in the mountain we want to play off that theme and keep it natural. I was thinking about providing blankets in a cute set up in case anyone does get a little chilly. He is a photo of the view, the main reason why we chose this location!

Hello! My fiancé and i are getting married here this September 2019. I wanted to ask- how strict were they with enforcing the “50 people max” rule? We are just curious if we had a few extra people, would they really even notice? Or is a park ranger there actually counting how many guests walk up? Thanks for the help! Smiley smile
