How to drape a veil around the shoulders?

Kristen, on December 11, 2019 at 7:53 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

Hello ladies. I have a mantilla veil as seen in the picture. I plan to wear it at the top of my head but I would like for it to lay flat and draped around my shoulders during our ceremony. Any tips for how to do that? It naturally falls to the back.

Maybe a tiny little bit of fashion tape?

I hate my life. How did I not think of that? LOL Great idea! Thanks! You think to put on the lace and tape to my shoulders?

I think so. I would definetly give enough room for you to move, so I would try it at home to see how it would work! The veil looks beautiful btw!!!

Oooooh ok will do. Thanks so much. I was worried adding pins or anything as I did not want to ruin. Thanks so much, I got it from etsy for less than $50. That site is saving me some good money ha ha.

I'd definitely practice with the fashion tape, because you want the veil to move naturally when you turn your head, etc. It might look awkward in photos if it's pulling or lumpy because of the taping. Another option would be to try moving the center of the veil more forward on the top of your head, closer to your hairline -- then it will more naturally drape down in front of your shoulders, rather than behind. Beautiful veil!

Your veil really is so beautiful Kristen!

I think fashion tape would work perfectly for holding your veil in place. Are there sleeves on your dress or would the veil be able to be taped directly to your shoulders?

Very good point. I do want it to stay in place but not look awkward. I would have it 2 inches from the top because I want some hair to appear out so I do not want it to be too close to my hair line. I will practice both ways to see how it works best. Post ceremony I do not care too much ha ha ha. I just love seeing pics with the veil and they frame the face. Thanks so much I got it from etsy. Smiley smile

LOL no my dress is strapless and I would love a ceremony outside so I do not plan on wearing a jacket or anything with sleeves. I am hoping there is clear fashion tape. I would need to tape it to my shoulders.

You can definitely get clear fashion tape, so hopefully, it works well for you!

Sorry to impose but did your mantilla veil come with a comb attached or did you use pins to hold it in place to your hair?
