How to decrease look of back/under arm fat in a strapless gown?

Marla, on October 3, 2019 at 8:01 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
What is a good way of decreasing the look of both back and under arm fat when wearing a strapless corset style dress? My wedding is in 44 days, so no time to lose major weight. I wouldn’t really want to, either. I tried on my dress with a regular strapless bra. Would a long line bra look
better? I’m already wearing high waisted Spanx shorts and a high waisted petticoat slip. I love my dress, but I’m feeling super self-conscious. Thanks, everyone. Smiley smile

    You look lovely!

Embrace it and ♥️ it just as your FS does.

I looked like a Line Backer from the back in my 👰👗, but I didn’t know until I saw the pictures AFTER the Wedding. I was HIGHLY upset when I saw them.

However, everyone told me how beautiful I was and how nice my 👰👗was.

You look great. I would have never thought to look at the back fat if you didn’t mention it.

I would be careful with Spanx - I wore it for one of my gown fittings & the seamstress took a picture of the back fat. She said that it may make you look smaller up front, but it brings everything up.She was amazing & I’m so lucky for her guidance bc I know that I will look better in pics.

This seems to be a common concern w/ strapless dresses so I get your concern, but honestly - your back looks fine! I’ve seen 1000x worse and wouldn’t think anything of your back. With your timeline, I’d say just make sure the dress isn’t too tight (that’s what causes the fat to squeeze up & together) and practice good posture. Hope this helps!

Have you ever tried an It Works Wrap? Google them if not. I used to use them all the time! They are gimmicky and are a direct sales company and I know people seem to hate those. But the wraps work! They of course are not a substitute for weight loss and everyone's results vary a little and they don't last long term. But they work wonders when it's crunch time. I have used them on my arms, back, stomach, chest, thighs, even my neck! It would be a quick fix, you'd need to do it the day before the wedding, and avoid carbonated beverages and drink lots of water for best results, but definitely worth a shot. I'm sure if you looked on Facebook, it wouldn't be hard to find a rep.

I went to my friends wedding over the summer, she is a little larger on top. But she got a wedding dress accessory that looks like this. She had a strapless dress as well, but she said this coverage made herself feel more confident and it looked beautiful on the dress. This can be found at Davids Bridal under Accessories, Jackets and Wraps.
