Do you mean like a cash fund?
You can post a QR code to an online payment portal (ie, CashApp, Venmo, Paypal)
There’s also HoneyFund, GoFundMe, and Collective that offer more of a platform that give visitors something more pleasing to look at and can be customized for the event.Hope this helps.

Any of the platforms I listed can be used for that. CashApp, Venmo, PayPal are bank apps and people and automatically transfer money.
The others or event websites that allow you to create a special designed landing page.

Hi Yuliya! WeddingWire partners with Traveler's Joy which has a honeymoon registry (which is basically just a cash registry). You can check out all of WeddingWire's retail partners here:

If you create a registry with Traveler's Joy you can then link it directly to your wedding website!

Asking for money in any way it is dressed up is in poor taste. Please don't do this.

I disagree. People traditionally made a gift registry, if a friend or family member made a purchase then its a gift for their new life together. No one is obligated to buy from the registry. Guest are also likely to put money in a card. No one is asking for money, they are stating that if you would like to give a gift, please put it towards our cash fund.
It’s 2024 and with technology and less traditional weddings it’s not rude. Just depends on how it is presented.

A registry is a guide and that means no one is obligated to buy from it. And some may put cash in a card instead. So creating a cash fund instead of having money sitting out at your wedding is beneficial.
There are stories of people who had their card box stolen. Just because someone makes a cash fund doesn’t mean they are asking for money. It is just an alternative to the traditional registry. Anyway it’s @Yuliya’s wedding and she didn’t ask for opinions, she asked how to do it.

I think if you use other sites with it built in they will create a custom url.
If you are using venmo you scan screenshot the QR code and to signs or whatever else you plan to post it on.

If someone was asking how to rob a bank, would you tell them not to do it because it is wrong, or would you help them find the blueprints? If you know something is wrong to do, you should never let people do the wrong thing.

Everyone knows money is a good gift. Giving a third party part of the gift is pretty ignorant.

Personally if I see a cash fund I either do not give a gift, or give a much smaller physical -non returnable gift.

Giving a smaller gift is petty. And no I wouldn’t help to rob a bank. It being social media, I would just mind my business because if I don’t have anything to contribute then there’s nothing to say. They will still rob the bank regardless of my feelings.

No, giving any gift, no matter the size, is being generous as wedding gifts are never obligatory. If I was a guest here, I'd mail in my decline and unfriend any couple with bad manners to ask for a cash handout.

I did NOT say that giving any size gift was NOT generous. I was referring to deciding to give a smaller gift and hoping they can’t return it because there is a cash fund set up is petty. I’m sure if you decline to go because of this, you are doing the couple a favor by leaving your negativity at home.

I'm okay with that and my purpose in declining is to separate myself from bad taste and an obvious cash grab. In adult life, not everyone stays your friend or run in the same success circles.
