FH and I met with our wedding coordinator this past Sunday and we had a very productive meeting. She answered a lot of questions and was able to steer us in the right direction on some of our ideas. Her services are included in our wedding package at the hotel we're getting married at.

I asked if we could push our menu tasting up because I noticed in all of our emails she suggested times in July and August. I told her during the meeting that we wanted to do it sooner so that we could add more detail about the dinner entree on the enclosure/RSVP card. She said it wasn't necessary to do this and actually suggested that we leave it on the card as "chicken, beef, fish, veggie.." Is this ok? I wanted people to have a better understanding of the options when they RSVP. Is there another way to go about this? Maybe a menu card at each place setting? I have no issues ordering the extra stationary to make this clear to guests, I just don't know which direction to take.

I prefer a little more description. For example, I don't like mushrooms and a lot of chicken dishes have them. If you can't, you can't though!

I share the same concerns as I am a bit of a picky eater and could imagine being in that situation. I also understand that people have dietary restrictions and by being vague on the RSVP card for menu selection, we could be putting people at risk.

Another reason I wanted to get this done sooner is that I work for Shutterfly/Wedding Paper Divas and the company gives employees a large sum to use for wedding stationery, but I have to use all of it at once. So i wouldn't be able to order the invites and then a month later order enclosure cards. Which is why i'd really like to know the menu more before ordering invites.

I also prefer a more descriptive option. I would push to have the tasting as early as you can!

I was only able to fit the basics on my RSVP card and I was very important to me to let my guests know exactly what was included on the beef, chicken, etc. I included an insert in my invitations with details.
